How do I find my correct bra size?

To find your correct bra size, measure your underbust (band size) and your fullest bust measurement. Subtract the band size from the bust measurement — each inch difference corresponds to a cup size (1 inch = A, 2 = B, 3 = C, etc.). The Bra Shop Australia stocks bras from size 10A to 36K, so our team can help you find the perfect fit.

What bra sizes does The Bra Shop stock?

The Bra Shop Australia stocks an extensive range of bra sizes from 10A through to 36K, including full-figure, plus size, mastectomy, maternity, and sports bras. We specialise in hard-to-find sizes including DD, E, F, FF, G, GG, H, HH, J, and K cups.

How often should I replace my bra?

Most bras should be replaced every 6–12 months with regular wear. Signs it's time for a new bra include the band riding up, straps constantly slipping, wires poking through, or the cups wrinkling or gaping. Rotating between a few bras extends their lifespan.

What is the best bra for everyday wear?

The best everyday bra depends on your size and preference. T-shirt bras with seamless moulded cups are ideal under fitted clothing. For larger cup sizes (D and above), an underwired bra with wide straps and a wide back band provides the best all-day support. The Bra Shop stocks everyday bras from brands including Triumph, Naturana, Berlei, and Finelines.

How do I wash and care for my bras?

Hand washing in cool water with a gentle detergent is the best way to care for bras. If machine washing, use a lingerie bag on a delicate cold cycle. Always air dry — never put bras in the dryer as heat damages the elastic and underwire casing. Fasten the hooks before washing to prevent snagging.

When should I start wearing a maternity bra?

Most women benefit from switching to a maternity bra during the first trimester (around 6–8 weeks) when breast tenderness and growth begins. A maternity bra provides extra support without underwire pressing on sensitive breast tissue. For nursing, a drop-cup nursing bra is recommended from around the third trimester so you're prepared when baby arrives.

What is the difference between a maternity bra and a nursing bra?

A maternity bra is designed for pregnancy — it's wire-free with extra stretch and support to accommodate breast changes. A nursing bra has drop-down cups for easy breastfeeding access. Many nursing bras can be worn during pregnancy too, making them a practical choice from the third trimester onwards. The Bra Shop stocks both from brands including Triumph and Naturana.
